From when he was young, Robert always loved drawing creatures and creating fantastical things. Growing up, he fell in love with artists like Larry Elmore, Frank Frazetta, and Julie Bell. Opting to work hard to provide for his family, he set his pencils and paints aside, only taking them out now and again to enjoy the creative process.

Now that he’s retired, he’s pledged to fully learn the craft and business side of illustration. Although he’s self-taught, Robert chose to attend Dan Dos Santos’ smART School course in order to learn as much as possible in order to be a successful illustrator.

Along with illustration, Robert spends his time writing books, shopping at thrift stores with his wife of thirty-five years, and enjoying coffee whenever he can.

He does paint traditionally using oils and other mediums. He’s allergic to anything AI, so he does not use any generative AI tools in any steps of the process.
